Power outages are common during a storm, which means the electricity in a freezer is not keeping the food cold. Freeze a cup of water before evacuating your home and put a quarter on top of the frozen water. If the quarter is sunk to the bottom of the cup after the storm, you should dispose all food stored in the freezer.
