SERVPRO Stages Material Properly

At SERVPRO of Southern Trumbull County we guarantee the quality of our work and ensure the best possible finished product in a variety of different ways.
One way this is achieved is by making sure that materials we use in the rebuild phase have ample time to acclimate to their surroundings. When a material acclimates, its physical temperature changes to match that of the room around it.
This is important for a few reasons. Not only is the material easier to work with, but it helps to eliminate the possibility of problems arising after everything is installed.
Also, materials will expand and contract naturally as its temperature changes. If materials are installed before they are fully acclimated, and are still expanding and contracting, gaps can form between sheets of drywall, floor boards can buckle, and paneling can get a rippling effect. These types of problems not only look terrible, but they ruin the materials so they can't be fixed and must be replaced.
Different types of materials need to acclimate for different periods of time. All materials must acclimate for a minimum of twenty-four hours, but some take much longer. For example, Hardwood plank flooring takes three to four days and snap-lock laminate flooring takes a minimum of forty-eight hours.
As a local restoration/construction company, we take pride in providing the best service for our customers and community. Our Construction Project Managers are always available to answer any questions you may have about your home or business project.
